Giving new life to something that’s a little worn out is a wonderful act of love, but its also the perfect opportunity for a spot of creative darning practice; if it turns out not quite how you'd imagined, who's going to see it anyway?!

The Darning Egg Tool
This kit includes a beautiful wooden darning egg - the ideal tool for sock repairs.
 
To use, pop the egg inside the sock so that it creates tension around the hole. You might find it helpful to wrap the elastic band around the egg to hold everything in place.
 
The rounded surface helps you preserve the original shape of the garment, like the heel or toe of a sock, and the smaller size ensures you can fix a hole or well-worn areas without stretching the fabric out.
 
Each egg is one-of-a-kind carefully sourced by us from vintage markets. It has 'character' e.g. minor chips, surface scratches, dents, tiny holes and marks from it's previous life, but is still in usable condition with an authentic vintage feel.

darning or embroidery on socks, gloves, hats or similar items.
mending small holes, mini tears, threadbare spots and stains.
